What is in the box.
Included
- The A330-200 with the Rolls-Royce Trent 700
- White livery
- Virgin Australia VH-XFJ, SWISS HB-IQA and Air France F-GZCL in 8K
- Windows plugin: SimBrief in the MCDU and the engine switch
Downloaded separately
- GE CF6-80E1 and PW4000 engines: free mods by Carda, from Carda's pages
- Paint kit
The SWISS and Air France liveries are set up for the PW and GE engines, which need Carda's mods and the Windows plugin. Without them they fly on the Trent 700. Virgin Australia uses the included Trent 700.
Three steps.
- In
X-Plane 12/Aircraft/Laminar Research/, duplicate theAirbus A330-300folder. Move the copy toX-Plane 12/Aircraft/and rename itAirbus A330-200. - Copy the contents of the zip's
Calibra A330-200folder into that copy. Overwrite when asked. - Start X-Plane and load
Airbus A330-200. The default A330-300 is not changed.
Work on the copy, outside the Laminar Research folder. X-Plane's updater manages that folder and would undo the install.
Do not extract the zip directly into the Aircraft folder. Without the copy of the A330-300, the aircraft will be incomplete or will not load.
GE and PW engines.
The GE CF6-80E1 and Pratt & Whitney PW4000 are free engine mods by Carda. They are not in our package. Windows only.
- Download the mods from Carda's pages on Threshold (login required): GE CF6-80E1 and PW4000.
- From each download, open
JAR330 Base Folder/objects/and copy theGE EnginesorPW Enginesfolder into theobjectsfolder of your A330-200. - Load the aircraft and choose the engine.
On macOS and Linux, do not copy these folders. Without the plugin, the extra engines are drawn on top of the Trent.
Choosing the engine.
- By livery
- A livery folder with RR, GE or PW in its name selects that engine when you load it.
- By menu
- Plugins → A332 Engine Switch.
- Default
- Rolls-Royce Trent 700.
New versions.
Each update is a complete new package. Install it the same way, on a fresh copy of the default A330-300. Before updating, keep your plugins/A330_MCDU/simbrief.txt, the GE Engines and PW Engines folders and any liveries you added, and put them back afterwards.
